Hickory Sunrise Rotary Club Strikes Success with Inagural CVCC Scholarship Fundraiser Bowling Tournament

Hickory, NC – On Saturday, August 5th, the Hickory Sunrise Rotary Club hosted its inaugural CVCC Scholarship Fundraiser Bowling Tournament at Pin Station Bowling Center. The event marked a milestone for the club as it drew an impressive turnout of 51 enthusiastic bowlers, all contributing to a successful day of community engagement and fundraising.

The tournament proved to be a delightful affair, with participants showcasing their bowling skills while fostering camaraderie and friendly competition. Attendees reveled in the excitement of the occasion, and the event was made all the more special with the distribution of several outstanding prizes to lucky winners.

Acknowledging the generous support of Bethlehem Ace Hardware, the Hickory Sunrise Rotary Club expressed heartfelt gratitude for their instrumental role in discounting the Big Green Egg, a coveted prize among attendees.

As the tournament unfolded, participants put forth their best efforts to secure top positions in both the adult and youth divisions. In the adult division, the top three winners were announced:

1st Place – Steven Robarge

2nd Place – Chip Tyson

3rd Place – Jacob Odom

In the Youth Division, the victors were:

1st Place – Joshua Scott
2nd Place – Gabriel Hammonds
3rd Place Nathaniel Parks

The event had exciting raffle prizes like a Big Green Egg Grill, Kitchen Aid Mixer, Food Lion Gift Cards, and Captain’s Galley Gift Card. Thanks to the Wednesday night Nine Pinners for their generous donation.

The Hickory Sunrise Rotary Club extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated, making the event a resounding success. Annual Winter Warmth Event

 

On Saturday January 25th, Hickory Sunrise Rotary once again participated in the annual Winter Warmth/Feed The Needy event at Christ Lutheran Church. 16 members (and Regina’s nephew) were on hand to help prepare and serve soup, chili, and sandwiches and distribute clothing items. Many thanks to Richard for collecting our contributions toward this event every week and to Christ Lutheran for the work they do throughout the year for those who need some help.

Fall Costume Ball

Join Hickory Sunrise Rotary Club for our Fall Costume Ball to the music of The Extraordinaires on Friday October 11th 2019 at Moretz Mill in beautiful downtown Hickory, NC. The fun starts at 7 pm and we throw you out at 11 (politely, of course). A full meal is included in the ticket price of $30 and there is a cash bar and a silent auction.

 

Proceeds from the evening go towards funding scholarships to Catawba Valley Community College for deserving young people who otherwise might not be able to afford to attend.
