Valentines Day Dance Raises over $10,000 for Scholarships

Our Valentine’s Day Dance at Moretz Mills marked another great success in our campaign to provide scholarships enabling deserving local students to attend Catawba Valley Community College. As always, of course, it was also a lot of fun.

The evening started with a sumptuous turkey and ham buffet prepared and served by Hickory Sunrise Rotary Club members.

Guests were treated to a display by the reigning world champion shaggers.

Hickory Sunrise Rotary’s annual Valentine’s beach party takes place this year on Saturday February 13th at Moretz Mills in North Carolina’s westernmost beach town, beautiful downtown Hickory. As with previous events, proceeds will go towards providing scholarships for deserving local students wishing to attend CVCC.

Music will be provided by legendary beach band The Entertainers.

Tickets are $30 and include a meal. There will be a cash bar and a silent auction. The party starts at 7 pm and runs until 11 pm.

Halloween at the Beach a Great Success

Our Halloween at the Beach fundraiser for education at Moretz Mills was an outstanding success which will allow us to continue and expand our sponsorship of deserving local students at Catawba Valley Community College. Needless to say, it was also a lot of fun! Mark your calendars for the second annual Valentines dance on Saturday February 13th as we stake our claim for Hickory as North Carolina’s westernmost beach town.
