At this morning’s meeting, Hickory Sunrise Rotary kicked off its annual effort in support of the “Face of a Child” project, organized by the Little Samaritan Mission, based in Granite Falls.
Rotarian Richard Tucker distributed photographs of children in Moldovan orphanages, together with large plastic bags that we will fill with a list of requested items. This year the focus is on winter wear, so there will be a rush to snap up warm coats before they disappear completely from stores.
The bags will be delivered to the Little Samaritan Mission in March and shipped to Moldova, where members of the mission will distribute them to the children.
